Partnership for Sustainable Textiles – For better conditions in the global textile production

GREIFF is a member of the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles.
Founded in October 2014 in response to accidents in textile factories in Bangladesh and Pakistan, the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles works to improve social and ecological conditions in global textile production. Stakeholders include companies and associations as well as NGOs, trade unions, standard organisations and the German government. GREIFF has been a member since 2015.
The Partnership for Sustainable Textiles aims to achieve its goals with four strategy elements:
- a joint definition of standards and implementation requirements with time targets that ensure continuous improvement
- a joint improvement of framework conditions in the production countries
- transparent communication to help end consumers easily recognise sustainable textiles
- an alliance platform – to review progress, share experiences and learn from each other
