Fair Wear Foundation - For safe working conditions

People from many different countries contribute to the workwear GREIFF produces for you. We feel responsible for these people. Local working and social conditions are important to us.

For this reason, GREIFF has been a member of the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) since March 2015.

The Fair Wear Foundation campaigns for better working conditions in the clothing industry worldwide. For this purpose, the independent non-profit organisation has defined labour standards based on the conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. They are intended to ensure a humane, safe and healthy working environment as well as social security and fair pay in the production facilities of all member companies. The staff of the Fair Wear Foundation regularly carry out independent inspections of the production sites, advise the companies and also take complaints from the textile workers into account.

The eight labour standards of the Fear Wear Foundation:

  • Safe and healthy working conditions
  • No exploitation of child labour
  • Payment of a living wage
  • No discrimination in employmen
  • Reasonable hours of work
  • Employment is freely chosen
  • Legally binding employment relationshop
  • Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining
