Code of Conduct – For responsible action

As a company, we are committed to our social responsibility. We are able and willing to make a contribution when it comes to enforcing human rights as well as labour, social and ecological standards - everywhere in the world. As a member of the Confederation of the German Textile and Fashion Industry (t+m), we relate to the Confederation's guidelines.

GREIFF is committed to the Code of Conduct.

The Code of Conduct provides a guideline for responsible corporate behaviour. It contains practical basic rules and offers an orientation framework to which companies can individually align their corporate policy. It is based on the internationally recognised principles for the protection of human and labour rights as expressed in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the ILO Core Labour Standards, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. Relevant national initiatives are also incorporated into the Code of Conduct.

Five important standards of the Code of Conduct (excerpt):

  • Prohibition of child labour
  • Prohibition of forced labour
  • Promotion of equal pay for women and men for work of equal value
  • Respect of workers' rights
  • Prohibition of discrimination
